UK Lottery FAQs

Do I have to match the UK Lottery winning numbers in the exact order drawn?

You do not have to match the UK Lottery winning numbers in the exact order they are drawn.

The UK Lottery winning numbers are drawn randomly, and after the UK Lottery draw, they are placed in numerical order for your convenience.

How many numbers are in the UK Lottery?

The UK Lottery makes use of the simple 6/59 game format. During the UK Lottery draw, a single ball set containing 59 UK Lottery numbers is used.

Six (6) UK Lottery numbers will be drawn during the draw. To win the payout, you will need to match all of the six (6) numbers drawn.

In the UK Lottery, there is no extra number set, thus making placing bets and winning relatively easy. An additional ball, the bonus ball, is drawn during the UK Lottery draw.

It creates an additional prize tier to reward players who matched five (5) UK Lottery winning numbers and the bonus ball.

You do not choose the bonus ball. It is an additional ball automatically selected during the draw.

UK Lottery Historical Changes

Since its first draw in November 1994, the UK Lottery grew from strength to strength.

This popularity resulted in a second weekly draw added on Wednesday 5th February 1997, meaning it was drawn twice a week every Saturday and Wednesday.

The UK Lottery had a four (4) payout rollover cap, but this changed in November 2018. According to the new rules, the payout will not roll over more than five (5) times.
